Our Mariners Men played out an evenly contested 0-0 draw against Wellington Phoenix in Christchurch.
The Mariners Men were again on the road for their 4th consecutive away game this month, finishing with a well deserved draw.
The statistics tell the story for the match of an even contest between two teams needing a win to stay within reach of the top six.
The biggest talking point of the match were two Wellington calls for penalties that were not awarded by the referee or VAR. The first of these was in the first half around the 30 minute mark when Brain Kaltak and Wellington's Nagasawa collided in the Mariners penalty box.
Nagasawa was again involved in the second incident in the 64th minute in an incident with Diesel Herrington. Aain, the referee and VAR turned down the appeal for a penalty to be awarded.
A highlight for the Mariners was the performance by Dylan Peraic-Cullen in keeping a clean sheet. Wellington had a chance around the 20 minute mark but Dylan made himself "big" to ensure that Wellington did not score.
The Mariners had another debutant in Abdul Faisal who came on as a substitute after his transfer from Perth Glory.
The Mariners Men do not get much of a rest before their game that is also away against Western United. This match will be played on Wednesday, 29th January in Tarneit with kick-off scheduled for 7:00pm (AEDT).
