The Mariner's Liberty A-League Women played in Hobart this afternoon against Western United in windy conditions.

The game started with two goals in the first 6 minutes with the first of these goals going to the home side in the 2nd minute.

The Mariners then followed up with their own goal in the 6th minute to level the scores.  Rola Badawiya converted an opportunity when a shot from a fellow Mariner deflected off a Western United defender.  Badawiya pounced on the loose ball to slot it past Western's goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, the home side were to score again in the 28th minute to take the lead.

The score was to remain at Western United 2 to Mariners 1 at half-time.

Both sides struggled in the second half for any real opportunities to score.  The Mariner's had the best chance in the 79th minute when substitute Kyah Simon met a cross from Wurigumula.  Kyah's header struck the left-hand upright.

The next game for the Mariner's Women is part of a double header at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford on Saturday, 10th February.  This match is against Melbourne Victory with kick-off scheduled for 5:00pm.
