The Central Coast Mariners last night played an exciting brand of football to earn a point with a 2-2 draw against Western Sydney Wanderers.

The Mariners took the lead in the 30th minute when Sam Silvera scored from outside the penalty box.

The Wanderers scored soon after in the 35th minute (N'Gbakoto) and then again in the 60th minute (Borello) to lead 2-1 with 30 minutes to play.

Jason Cummings came on at the 61st minute and turned super-sub when a Nectarios Triantis shot was deflected off Jason's chest to level the scores at 2-2.

Both the Mariners and Wanderers had chances with further scoring opportunities.  The best one for the Mariners was from another substitute in Christian Theoharous.  A free-kick to the Mariners for a handball wide on the right and just outside the penalty box saw Christian strike the crossbar in the 95th minute.

For the second week in a row other results went the Mariners way and they still remain 2nd on the ladder leading into next weekend's game.

Next weekend's game is against Sydney FC on Saturday, 4th February with kick-off at 5:00pm.
